PEACEMAKERS Academy is continuing to make meaningful moves throughout our community. As we prepare for an upcoming series of videos and commercials, we have begun interviewing community members and listening to the people who know our neighborhoods best.
So far, we have interviewed six individuals who have generously shared their experiences, concerns, hopes, and perspectives. Each interview has helped us better understand what people are seeing, what young people are facing, and what our community may need in order to move forward in a healthier and more peaceful direction.
These interviews are not only part of a video project. They are part of a larger effort to listen, learn, connect, and give people a voice.
Listening Helps Build Stronger Communities
Every community has concerns that deserve attention. Some issues are easy to see, while others may go unnoticed until someone is willing to speak about them.
Young people may be dealing with conflict, bullying, peer pressure, loneliness, anger, fear, or a lack of positive direction. Parents may be concerned about safety, communication, education, and the future of their children. Community leaders may see the need for stronger mentoring, better opportunities, and more cooperation between organizations.
When people are given an opportunity to share what they have experienced, others can begin to understand the reality around them.
Community interviews allow concerns to be shared from person to person, voice to voice, and story to story. They help people recognize that they may not be alone in what they are experiencing. They can also reveal common concerns that affect families, schools, churches, neighborhoods, and local organizations.
Listening is often the first step toward understanding. Understanding is the first step toward meaningful action.
Giving People a Voice
One of the most important purposes of these interviews is to give community members an opportunity to be heard.
People often carry valuable experiences and important ideas, but they may not always have a platform where they can express them. Through these interviews, individuals can speak honestly about what they have seen, what concerns them, and what they believe could make a difference.
Their voices can help inform others who may not be aware of the same challenges.
A young person may help adults understand what students are facing in school or online. A parent may describe the difficulty of finding positive opportunities for a child. A mentor may explain why guidance and consistent support matter. A community leader may identify needs that require greater cooperation.
Each voice adds another piece to the larger picture.
By sharing these interviews through our upcoming videos, PEACEMAKERS Academy hopes to encourage awareness, compassion, understanding, and community involvement.
Moving Beyond Awareness
Awareness is important, but awareness should lead to action.
The purpose of hearing these stories is not simply to point out problems. It is to help people think about possible solutions and recognize the role they can play in creating change.
Some concerns may require mentoring. Others may require education, conflict-resolution training, stronger family support, safe youth activities, volunteer involvement, or partnerships between churches, schools, businesses, and community organizations.
Positive change rarely happens through one person or one organization working alone. It happens when people begin listening to one another, identifying shared concerns, and working together with purpose.
PEACEMAKERS Academy wants to help create that kind of connection.
The Role of PEACEMAKERS Academy
PEACEMAKERS Academy exists to promote peace, develop leadership, strengthen character, and equip young people with practical skills that can help them make better decisions.
Our focus includes conflict resolution, nonviolence, communication, accountability, mentorship, servant leadership, and community involvement.
We believe young people should not only be told to avoid violence and conflict. They should also be taught how to handle difficult situations, communicate effectively, solve problems, control their emotions, lead responsibly, and help improve the places where they live.
The interviews being conducted will help us communicate why this work matters.
They will also help us ensure that the Academy remains connected to the real concerns of the community. By listening to different voices, we can better understand where support is needed and how our programs can serve young people and families more effectively.
Making Moves Through Media
Our upcoming video and commercial series will introduce people to the existence, mission, and purpose of PEACEMAKERS Academy.
The videos will feature local voices, community concerns, youth experiences, leadership messages, and stories of hope. They will help show why mentoring, peace education, positive relationships, and youth leadership development are important.
We want the community to see that PEACEMAKERS Academy is more than a name or a program.
It is a movement toward stronger young people, healthier relationships, peaceful communities, and responsible leadership.
Media gives us the opportunity to reach people who may not attend a meeting, visit a classroom, or hear about the Academy through traditional methods. A video can introduce an idea, begin a conversation, challenge a harmful mindset, or inspire someone to become involved.
That is why these interviews matter. They will help us tell an honest and meaningful story.
Six Interviews and Counting
We are grateful to the six individuals who have already taken the time to participate in this project.
Their willingness to speak, share, and contribute is helping us lay the foundation for something that can benefit the entire community.
Each person brings a different perspective. Together, those perspectives help us understand the community more clearly.
We are continuing to schedule additional interviews and would like to hear from more young people, parents, mentors, educators, pastors, business owners, local leaders, and concerned residents.
You do not have to be a professional speaker or actor. You simply need to be willing to share your perspective and support a positive message.

There are several ways to support the PEACEMAKERS Academy video project.
You may participate in an interview, appear in a commercial, help behind the scenes, assist with production, volunteer with the Academy, connect us with young people or community leaders, or help spread the word.
We are especially interested in hearing from individuals who care about:

Participants under the age of 18 will need permission from a parent or legal guardian.
